This exquisite young Weser-Ems stallion won the 2005 Weser-Ems licensing and was the first pony ever to be invited to the Oldenburger Stallion's Parade where he received a standing ovation and was described as being "as close to perfection as possible".  He has been described by the licensing committee as the most stunning pony they have seen for at least 6 years since his sire, Branduardi M won the licensing.

Hilkens Black Delight was  bred by Sabine Boening and is owned by Danica Duen http://www.stall-duen.com. He is the only stallion that combines the two best Weser-Ems lines. Branduardi's dam was Gloria, who also produced Black Dancer, Bon Jovi, Bonjour (all three licensed in Weser-Ems and all of them produced excellent offspring) and Golden Felina who not only won the National Mare Show but also the Bundeschampionat. Later, she produced a Bundeschampion (Pilgrims Red) and two male winners of the Vechta Foal Championships. Gloria is also the dam of the mare Gilda, who's Verbandspremium (in between main studbook and state-premium), who has licensed offspring, one Vechta Elite Auction foal, one Vechta Elite Auction riding pony and state-premium daughters. Black Boy, Branduardi's sire, is extremely famous in German Riding Pony Breeding..

His Sire- Branduardi M is by Black Boy - Valentino - Caid AA. He was the winner of the licensing himself, as well as of his performance test (8.85), later became vice Bundes-Champion and the pony with the highest earning in sport of all 4 to 6 year olds at that time in Germany, being successful up to FEI-level dressage and jumping classes level L (about 4'2, against ponies and horses).

His Dam- SPS Syrah by Morbidelli - Black Boy - Brilliant, was also the champion mare in Weser-Ems of her year, winning the Elite Mare Show 2001 in Vechta (as have her younger half sisters Hilkens Shakyrah in 2005 and Sophie in 2002). She was successful in sport up to FEI-dressage level, L-level jumper classes (about 4'2) and won the Weser-Ems eventing championships in 2004, when she also qualified for the Bundes-Championships in Eventing (against big horses). Syrah, as well as her dam and all of her first-degree female relatives have state-premium title (as far as old enough). Syrah placed second at her mare's performance test, beaten by her younger sister, Sophie. Also, she placed 4th at the national pony mare show 2005. 

Syrah's sire Morbidelli goes back to the famous Matcho AA, who was one of the top three Anglo-Arabs in German ponybreeding. He had great influence in Hanover, where he sired many stallion's dams, being known as an excellent "mare maker".

Syrah's dam, SPS Sira, is also the dam of SPS Hilkens Shakyrah and SPS Sophie (Vechta Elite Mare Show winner and mare's performance test winner 2002).  Sira produced many successful sport ponies as well. Sira is a full sister to SPS Schamila, who placed fourth in her Vechta Elite Mare Show and who won her mares performance test. Being still young, she already produced one Bundeschampionat finalist of the five year old jumping ponies, plus several premium foals. Sira and Schamila are full siblings to the licensed stallion Beckenbauer, who just passed his performance test with a total score of 8.04.

Hilken's Black Delight is available by frozen semen in 2006 through Yancey Farms. His semen has proved to be very good quality and he will have a good number of offspring born in 2007!
